Volunteer

Our volunteer program is an integral part of the mission of Utah Health and Human Rights. Through the help of dedicated volunteers we are able to assist clients in becoming self-sufficient and rebuilding their lives in Utah. There are many many ways you can help out.

General Volunteer Opportunities

  • Driver: Transporting clients to and from our office for appointments, groups and clinics
  • Childcare: Watching children at our office while their parents are in sessions and groups
  • Office Work: Audit client files, office cleaning, front desk and organizational tasks
  • English/Educational Tutoring: Help clients with English skills and/or academic goals
  • Mentoring: Help clients with specific goals and needs (public transportation system, library resources, finance & any other needs identified by clients)
  • Donations: Hygiene items, cleaning supplies, Wish List items (requested via weekly email)

Professional Volunteer Opportunities: 

  • Interpreters: Interpret for sessions (Arabic, Swahili, Kinyarwanda & other languages)
  • Massage Therapists: Massages for clients to assist with pain, stress and anxiety managment
  • CNA/Medical Assistants: Assist psychiatrists with check-ins at our biweekly psychiatry clinic
  • Pharmacist: Help our clients with medications and prescriptions
  • LCSW: One on one and/or group therpay sessions with client(s)
  • Dental: Pro-bono/discounted dental services
  • Contact us if you have a different professional specialty that may benefit UHHR, we love new ideas!

Group Volunteer Opportunities:

Small groups can volunteer at UHHR by cleaning our office space; donating and assembling items for hygiene, cleaning or baby kits; and other projects on a case by case basis. Please contact David Robles for more information.
